NASCAR, in terms of motorsport, is up there with the best of them. It is one of the most popular sporting events in the world as it attractive to truly broad audience. The drivers are very approachable and fans can relate to them, and this proven with hundreds of thousands of fans coming to see who will end up in the Sprint Cup. In fact, this type of racing is the fastest growing sport in the USA, in terms of popularity. And is one of the reasons why we see prominent sponsorship deals with global brands such as PartyCasino who sponsored the NASCAR 125 event

Therefore, it would come as no surprise that many fans have their special memories and opinions on drivers and cars who have stood out from the rest to make the sport even more special. Here we take a look at some of the most iconic cars which will never be forgotten.

Dale Earnhardt & Goodwrench

It is always going to be a close contest in the battle of the iconic cars of NASCAR, especially between Dale Earnhardt and the man we will come onto next. But it’s Earnhardt who pips it for us. He drove the all-black car with no.3 on it for thirteen years between 1998 and the 2001 Daytona 500, where he tragically lost his life. The Goodwrench Chevrolet brought Earnhardt forty-five of his career wins, as well as four championship titles, which is some going. Winning the Great American Race in 1998 was a significant highlight.

Richard Petty & STP

Richard Petty, also known as The King, is the most successful NASCAR driver in history, with more career wins than anyone else. And, for a driver who is so successful, it’s only right he has an iconic car, too. Petty’s no.43 vehicle is instantly recognisable and was the motor in which The King bagged two hundred wins in the Sprint Cup Series. Petty and STP, a motor oil company, linked up for the last sixty of his two hundred victories, and the pair’s relationship continued after The King’s retirement as a driver, by backing Richard Petty Motorsport and the no.43 car.

Jeff Gordon & DuPont

Jeff Gordon got behind the wheel of the iconic DuPont Chevrolet, rainbow coloured, of course, when he was twenty-one years old. And since then, he’s gone on to become one of the most prolific NASCAR drivers in terms of wins the sport has seen. Seventeen years saw Gordon and DuPont work together as driver and sponsor full time, with their relationship reverting to part-time after. In twenty seasons together, the appearance of Gordon’s car has changed, as you will expect. But, it’s the rainbow colours which are the most iconic, and the colour scheme will go down in NASCAR history.

Dale Earnhardt & Wrangler

It’s a second entry for Dale Earnhardt on our list. And, the car we’re going to bring to the fore deserves the recognition. Between 1981 and 1987, Earnhardt struck up a deal with Wrangler, and they netted twenty-five race wins and two championship crowns together. Yes, Earnhardt is remembered for driving another famous car, but his Wrangler one lives long in the memory, beginning life with the no.2 on board. A number switch from 2 to 15 came further down the line. And then Earnhardt took on no.3, which became his for the rest of his career. A number which fans became used to seeing on the cars he drove.
