While parts of the world have grown into the F1 and motorsport world from the South East Asia races of Malaysia and Singapore to the Middle East where they may have three races very soon. Meanwhile, certain parts of the Globe has never had an F1 GP and I will discuss why they haven’t but, why they might in the future.
5. Eastern and Central Africa
Only two countries from Africa have ever hosted an F1 GP, Morocco and South Africa. The main reason why the rest of Africa has never hosted a GP, and why no African races have been on the F1 calendar since the 1990s, is the fact that the continent as a whole has a poor economy and therefore, do not have the finance to pay to host an F1 GP. South Africa is the most likely route for F1 to return to Africa but the following 5 countries have never hosted an F1 GP but, are most likely to in the future compare to the rest of the continent:
- Nigeria
- Egypt
- Algeria
- Kenya
- Tunisia
The reason why I have picked these 5 nations is, they have strong global economies or are tourist destinations, and they could benefit from having an F1 GP. Africa is unlikely to get more than 1 GP in the next decade, but anything can happen in Formula 1 and it usually does.
4. North and Western South America
South America is well known for its football and its motor racing. However, most of its motor racing history including F1 has come from the Eastern side of the continent from Argentina and Brazil. The main reason why the rest of South America has never hosted a GP, is the fact that the continent as a whole has a poor economy and therefore, do not have the finance to pay to host an F1 GP. Argentina is the most likely route for F1 to have two South American GPs but the following 5 countries have never hosted an F1 GP but, are most likely to in the future compare to the rest of the continent:
- Venezuela
- Columbia
- Chile
- Uruguay
- Peru
The reason why I have picked these 5 nations is, they have strong global economies or are tourist destinations, and they could benefit from having an F1 GP. South America is unlikely to get more than 2 GPs in the next decade, but anything can happen in Formula 1 and it usually does.
3. Central Asia
Central Asia refers to the countries west of China but North of India, South of Russia and West of the Middle East. These nations never hosted an F1 GP because, they were under the rule of the Soviet Union and are only now establishing them into the global economy. However, Kazakhstan may see obscure and a place F1 would never travel to but, they are still have a strong economy and could be a future powerhouse financially compared to other parts in the world.
2. Baltic States
The only region in Europe never to host a GP or are planning a GP, the Baltic States is a small group of nations West of Russia that is not part of Scandinavia. These nations are Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. Despite how small these nations are, they are interested in rally cross and rallying more than circuit racing so, they are unlikely to get a GP in the next decade, but anything can happen in Formula 1 and it usually does.
1. Caribbean Islands
This is the part of the world I want F1 to visit the most as, this would be a stunning setting for a GP. The main reason why the Caribbean Island nations have never hosted a GP, is the fact that the continent as a whole has a poorer economy and therefore, do not have the finance to pay to host an F1 GP. But, the following 5 countries have never hosted an F1 GP but, are most likely to in the future compare to the rest of the continent:
- Jamaica
- Cuba
- Trinidad and Tobago
- Barbados
- Bahamas
The reason why I have picked these 5 nations is, they are good tourist destinations, and they could benefit from having an F1 GP. Caribbean Island nations are unlikely to a GP in the next decade, but anything can happen in Formula 1 and it usually does. So, there you have it, a number of places in the World never to see an F1 GP but, the future could Intel on of these locations hosting their own GP in the future.
